AVIC Hafei’s independently developed and manufactured helicopter AC312E went airborne for the first time on July 28, 2016 at Harbin in China.

Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, Liebherr’s center of excellence for air management systems, is responsible for the development, manufacturing, qualification, certification and service of the air conditioning system for this twin-engine light helicopter.

The AC312E is based on the civil helicopter AC312A. It offers space for either nine passengers or a cargo load of 600 kg.It will be used in various fields such as medical or utility transport, search and rescue, police law enforcement and commercial passenger transport. The helicopter is expected to obtain its CAAC type certification at the end of 2017. Already more than 80 orders have been signed.
