Press releases | 07/11/2016 Liebherr breaks new ground with customers at Hillhead 2016

  • Liebherr stand busy for all three days at Hillhead 2016
  • Numerous enquires from existing and potential customers across cranes, concrete technology and earthmoving machinery
  • Particularly strong interest in tracked excavators, recently-launched Mobilmix 2.5 concrete batching plant and new quick release hatch on truck mixers

This year’s Hillhead show was extremely positive for Liebherr-Great Britain with the Liebherr stand busy on all three days. Numerous enquiries were received from existing and potential customers with some enquiries covering three sectors of Liebherrs construction product portfolio. Particularly strong interest was shown in the XPower, the tracked excavators, the recently-launched Mobilmix 2.5 concrete batching plant and the new quick release hatch on the truck mixers.

Inclement weather did not dampen interest in all that Liebherr had to offer at Hillhead 2016. The Liebherr stand was busy on all three days of this year’s Derbyshire-based international quarrying and recycling show with Liebherr products generating genuine interest from visitors.

Numerous enquiries were received from both existing and potential customers and in some instances these enquiries covered three sectors of Liebherr’s product portfolio: cranes, concrete technology and earthmoving machinery.

Colin Scott, wheel loader specialist, reported that: ‘There was a lot of interest shown in the XPower loaders especially with regards to the particularly good access for the operator and easy maintenance via clean, safe walkways. The extremely low fuel consumption of the XPower driveline from L550 to L586 was a real talking point and similarly, like the tracked excavators and dozers, no DPF or regeneration, only SCR technology required.’

Darren Bennet, tracked excavator product specialist, said: “There is strong interest from the market in the tracked excavators. Many commented on Liebherr’s simple approach to emission control with models including the R 922 crawler excavator requiring no DPF, regeneration or SCR and the larger excavators requiring just SCR and no additional technology.”

Fintan Lowney, General Manager of concrete technology, added: “The introduction of the new quick release hatch on the truck mixers has been incredibly well received at Hillhead this year. There was also a great deal of interest in the recently-launched Mobilmix 2.5 batching plant.”
