  • Liebherr-Stand on the corner of 7th avenue and Logistics avenue, Stand L44
  • World premiere: The new L 580 LogHandler XPower
  • Material handler LH 35 M Timber: Powerful machine with compact dimensions

At the Ligna 2017 international trade fair for the timber and forestry industry, which takes place from 22 to 26 May 2017 in Hanover, Liebherr is presenting its latest special machines for timber processing companies. Visitors can find the Liebherr trade fair stand in the Open-air site (FG) on the corner of 7th avenue and Logistics avenue, Stand L44.

The exhibits at the Ligna 2017 will include one L 580 LogHandler XPower and one timber material handler LH 35 M Timber.

L 580 LogHandler XPower

At LIGNA, Hannover, Liebherr showcases the refined but still robust L 580 LogHandler XPower for efficient log handling. The relaunch is based on the effective XPower concept of the Liebherr large wheel loader. The new XPower generation machine stands out thanks to its wide range of innovative features and the investment made into its sturdiness. Thanks to a special lift arm with major reinforcements, the L 580 LogHandler XPower can cover large working areas with a maximum reach of almost four metres. Productivity is increased by optimised timber grabs that can be adjusted in size for individual applications.

The L 580 LogHandler XPower boasts high levels of performance and productivity wherever companies need to handle and transport large volumes of logs and tree trunks, making locations such as cellulose, paper, cardboard or packaging plants ideal areas of application. The L 580 LogHandler XPower really comes into its own when covering transport routes requiring flexibility or transporting logs over longer distances at higher speeds.

A powerful 250 kW / 340 HP diesel engine with emission stage IV / Tier 4f is the largest exhibit on display. The standard version of the L 580 LogHandler XPower can carry a maximum payload of 8,730kg, with an operating weight of 36,650kg. With its optimised combi timber gripper with hold-down plate, L 580 LogHandler XPower can grab up to 3.6m³ of wood. Additional features showcased are the rear collision guards and gripper monitoring system.

Timber material handler LH 35 M Timber

With the LH 35 M Timber material handler, Liebherr is presenting a powerful all-round talent in timber handling at the Ligna 2017 trade fair. The LH 35 M Timber transport machine represents reliability and a high level of driving comfort. Impressive selling points, particularly in challenging timber handling tasks. The 4-cylinder inline engine from Liebherr, which complies with emissions standard IV / Tier 4f, has an engine output of 150kW / 204HP. In order to that the system has a high torque available for powerful movements. Moreover, load peaks are skilfully compensated for, meaning that the maximum torque is available at all times for the highest level of material handling performance.

The drive motor sets new standards in terms of efficient driving operation. The integrated electric swivel angle adjustment provides more torque, maximum acceleration and higher traction. In this way, a consistently high output is available even on uphill gradients. In addition, the standard all-wheel drive ensures high steerability and manoeuvrability while, at the same time, maintaining a high level of driving stability and improved tracking.

At this year’s Ligna Liebherr presents a new undercarriage version of the LH 35 M Timber.
