The dry soil mixing process takes place in following steps:
1. Positioning of the mixing tool under addition of compressed air
2. Rotary insertion of the mixing tool
3. Mixing of the soil down to final depth
4. Rotary extraction under addition of binding agent
5. Hardening of the soil-binder-mixture
6. Laying of base courses and surface course

For dry mixing a single mixing shaft breaks up the soil matrix. The mixing shaft consists of a hollow drilling linkage with mixing equipment and outlet nozzle. Cement and lime are mainly used as binding agents and are introduced in the ground as dry powder with the compressed air. The mixing tool rotates at high speed and mixes soil and binding agent.
