Logistic Center officially opened

From here the Liebherr Group supplies its customers with spare parts for earthmoving machinery.

From Kirchdorf to anywhere in the world

On June 19, 2015 the Liebherr group invited about a thousand guests for the official opening ceremony of its new Logistic Center. From Oberopfingen in South Germany, which is part of the town of Kirchdorf on the River Iller where Liebherr is already well established, the Group will in future dispatch spare parts for earthmoving machinery to customers all over the world.

“Consistent reliability for many years to come”

In his opening remarks Jan Liebherr recalled the life’s work of his grandfather, who would have been 100 years old this year. True to his principle that a company must never be satisfied until its customers and business associates are satisfied, the prime purpose of the new Logistic Center will be to supply spare parts to customers even more rapidly and reliably in the future.

The great moment

The Chief Regional Government Administrative Officer based in Biberach, Dr. Heiko Schmid, together with Jan Liebherr, Wolfgang Remlinger (Financial Manager of Liebherr-EMtec GmbH) and Martin Barth, General Manager of the operating company Liebherr-Logistics GmbH (from left to right) cut the yellow ribbon to declare the Logistics Center officially open.

Space for more than six million spare parts

Martin Barth: “As our product portfolio grows, so does the demand for storage space and immediate availability of spare parts. Rapid delivery times are a fundamental feature of our work, and the new Logistic Center is our response to this requirement.

Impressive dimensions

Guests were given a clear picture of the new center – an imposing building with a floor area equal to more than six football fields.

The Liebherr Road Show in Oberopfingen

In brilliant sunshine, guests applauded the impressive choreography of the big earthmoving machinery show with its cool musical backing.

Winner of the 2015 Dakar Rally

A highlight of the show: the Kamaz Racing Team’s truck that took places 1, 2, 3 and 5 in the truck category of the Dakar Rally in January this year. This truck is powered by a Liebherr 8-cylinder D9508 A7 diesel engine, which gave an impressive demonstration of its endurance and reliability in the toughest rally conditions.
