Throughout their entire service life, electronic products are subjected to a wide range of environmental influences, such as extreme temperatures, temperature fluctuations, vibrations or electromagnetic radiation.

With state-of-the-art testing and measuring facilities, Liebherr operates an electronics test center within the competency center at the Lindau site. By simulating the environmental influences, the quality and reliability of its electronic assemblies can be analyzed and improved right from the development stage. This enhances efficiency and extends the service life, and ensures the functionality of its equipment throughout the whole life-cycle.

Liebherr offers services at the highest level to customers from aviation and traffic engineering as well as the automotive and industry sector – from consultation to the execution of tests and product registrations. We carry out conventional environmental simulations for you and also customized tests in accordance with many international standards. An analysis laboratory for evaluation of the results and individual development services supplements our range of offers.

With over 140 members of staff, the committed development and testing team utilizes its wide-ranging expertise to realize innovative and economic solutions with you.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests are executed for you at the Liebherr test center according to the following standards (among others):
RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD, CISPR 16 and CISPR 25, DIN EN 61000

  • Resistance to interference from radiated emissions: 30MHz to 18GHz; up to 200V/m (from 100MHz continuous)
  • Resistance to interference from conducted emissions: 10kHz to 400MHz; up to 300mA
  • Radiated emissions: 9kHz to 18GHz
  • Conducted emissions: 10kHz to 200MHz

Electrical tests are growing increasingly in importance for the registration of electronic products. Essentially, they can be grouped together as follows:

The constantly rising demands on the mechanical reliability of electronics equipment necessitate comprehensive vibration and shock tests. In the Liebherr test laboratory there are two electrodynamic vibration testing systems available for this purpose, which can be used not only for development purposes but also for qualification.

    3D X-ray computer tomography is employed for more extensive analysis. The ultra-high resolution sectional images and slices can be created from almost all mechanical and electronic objects and used for fault analysis.
