04/12/2019 Liebherr 42 M5 XXT truck-mounted concrete pump: Handover of first series model
The 42 M5 XXT truck-mounted concrete pump is one of Liebherr's numerous world premières at Bauma. Liebherr even handed over the first series model of the machine at the trade fair. The key was handed over to the long-standing customer Betonpumpenunion in Ulm.
Family shareholder Philipp Liebherr, together with Managing Director Mark Figel and Product Manager Tobias Waitzinger from Liebherr-Mischtechnik GmbH in Bad Schussenried handed over the new truck-mounted concrete pump to Christian Klafszky, Managing Director of Betonpumpenunion GmbH & Co. KG. The first series model of the 42 M5 XXT now joins the fleet of the Ulm-based company, which already uses several truck-mounted concrete pumps from Liebherr.
The truck-mounted concrete pump celebrated its world première at Bauma. It attracted a great deal of attention among the public not only on account of its modern design. Because the 42 M5 XXT differs from all other truck-mounted concrete pumps in the concrete world on one key point: Its new drive unit called Liebherr-Powerbloc, which was developed by the Components Division of the Liebherr Group and was also a major reason for the order by Betonpumpenunion. The Liebherr-Powerbloc integrates all hydraulic switching and measuring elements of the pump system and makes numerous hydraulic hoses and many other components superfluous. The result is extreme robustness with significantly less downtimes, higher performance and a noticeably quieter running. The test results confirm this, which Liebherr-Mischtechnik have been gathering since September 2018 within the framework of the validation phase.
The new 42 M5 XXT for the medium class is equipped with the popular five-part multi-fold distributor boom. Compact on the road and high reach on the construction site, the low unfolding height, the slip properties and the flexibility facilitate work in buildings. No component remained untouched in the development of the 42 M5 XXT: Thanks to intensive detailed work, the total weight of the manoeuvrable and compact machine is below the 32-tonne limit applicable for four-axle machines in most European countries, without compromising on the quiet and stable machine behaviour typical of Liebherr machines.
