The Training & Development Manager will play a key role in developing, implementing and supervising training programs & curriculum for various divisions of Liebherr Canada.  The Training & Development Manager will understand the OEM sales and service environment, creating suitable training initiatives that build loyalty and the effectiveness of the Liebherr Canada workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Work with HR to identify and assess the training needs of the organization through job analysis, career paths and consultation with managers
  • Proactively provide training initiatives as well as respond to training requests (from operations, management and customers) and providing training solutions
  • Evaluate organizational performance to ensure that training is meeting business needs and improving performance
  • Develop individualized and group training programs that address specific business needs; including but not limited to implementing programs for performance, leadership development, talent acquisition
  • Effectively manage the training budget
  • Assess employee skills, performance and productivity to identify areas of improvement
  • Discuss with and support Departmental Managers in providing adequate resources to their teams
  • Drive brand values and philosophy through all training and development activities
  • Select and manage resources, including working with both internal employees and training vendors to develop and deliver training
  • Effectively communicate with team members, trainers, management and peers within their national and global networks
  • Manage the technologies and technical personnel required to develop, manage and deliver training
  • Keep abreast of training trends, developments and best practices
  • report on company wide succession planning together with Human Resources
  • Oversee and develop the Liebherr Canada Apprenticeship Program, including full responsibility of managing the Apprenticeship Program & rotations

Competencies

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in a Training & Development Manager capacity required
  • Experience/exposure in OEM, Heavy Equipment or Construction environment is required
  • University Degree in HR or a related field is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
  • High level of professionalism, including experience working with various stake holders
  • Demonstrated budget & third party vendor management
