Together with Deutz AG, Liebherr Machines Bulle S.A. will further develop the worldwide distribution and servicing of its diesel engines. A total of four Liebherr engine models in the power range of 200 to 620 kW will from now on be offered by Deutz and the Deutz distribution network under its own trademark. The four and six-cylinder engines are being developed to comply with emission standards EU Stage V, US Tier 4, China IV und EU Stage IIIA, and thus to satisfy future legal emission regulations. Serial production is due to start in 2019, just in time for the introduction of the new EU Stage V emission regulations.

"We are looking forward to further expand the business relations between our companies," says Gebhard Schwarz, Managing Director of Liebherr-Component Technologies AG: "With its worldwide distribution network and its comprehensive servicing solutions, Deutz can reach out to new customer groups for our collaborative engines."

Deutz and Liebherr have already been working together for many years. Deutz engines are deployed in several Liebherr construction machines, such as mobile and crawler excavators, telescopic handlers and concrete pumps.

Dr. Frank Hiller, Chairman of Deutz AG, explains: "The new engines resulting out of this cooperation with Liebherr perfectly complement our product range, allowing us to target further power ranges and applications. In this way, customers will profit from our integration and servicing expertise."

The four newly-developed 9-, 12-, 13.5 - and 18-liter models also expand the Liebherr engine portfolio. This will then comprise a total of 15 models across six series, covering a power range from 200 to 4,500 kW. The engines are not only integrated in Liebherr's own machines, but are deployed worldwide across a variety of branches.
