Ready in time for the Hannover trade fair – the Liebherr bucket loader LSL 1500
The LSL 1500 bucket loader appeared in the 1960s. With a 2.0 m³ bucket, 10,300 kg operating weight and 79 kW / 108 HP with torque converter, it was an innovative vehicle for its time.
In 1962, Liebherr showed what a wheel loader from Liebherr could look like for the first time at the Hanover trade fair. At the beginning of the video you can see the LSL 1500 bucket loader prototype used at the trade fair, pictured in front of the Liebherr plant in Biberach. It's hard to believe that the operator's cab was only an “optional extra” in the LSL 1500. At Liebherr, this was called an “all-weather roof”. At that time, even the side panels and heating were special features and as such were only available as extras. In the end of the video you can see an LSL 1500, which was in use until 2007 at a forwarding company, believe it or not that's almost 50 years!
