As the Product Manager for lattice boom cranes and self-proclaimed crane nerd, Jim Jatho has been a key addition to Liebherr’s team for mobile and crawler cranes providing the necessary support and technical assistance for these complex machines.
Leveraging his engineering background, Jatho began his career at a Texas refinery, where he was offered the chance to contribute to engineered lift plans and fell into the crane world. Subsequently, in 2021, he transitioned to Liebherr as a Product Manager specifically overseeing lattice boom cranes.
Liebherr offers a variety of lattice boom cranes including traditional crawler cranes used in civil, industrial, petrochemical, and wind applications. Additionally, Liebherr recently developed the LG 1800-1.0 lattice boom mobile crane. This crane has combined the high load capacities of a lattice boom crane with the advantages of a mobile chassis creating a versatile and powerful crane that can lift up to 880 USt (800 t).
“I love showing customers things they have never seen before including our factory and large crawlers,” said Jatho. “A personal highlight of mine was being entrusted to give a tour on my own.”
In his role, Jatho provides heavy technical assistance and direct support to US customers as needed. He also serves as a liaison between US customers and Liebherr’s mobile and crawler crane factory, Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH. Jatho consistently communicates with his international counterparts and noted that their support is crucial in his work and his customer’s requirements. Jatho also works closely with regional sales teams and enjoys going out into the field and meeting customers around the US.
“The exceptional treatment that Liebherr provides to both its customers and employees truly stands out,” notes Jatho. “Liebherr’s commitment to excellence sets them apart in the industry.”
