Press releases | 05/01/2014 Two Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 cranes install glass roof: Tandem hoist at Erding thermal water world complex

A new glass roof was recently installed at Erding thermal water world complex (Therme Erding). Two new Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 mobile cranes were used for this job. The total area of the roof structure is 2,600 m² and it was ho-isted into position in two segments. The heaviest load totalled 203 tonnes including hooks and cross beams.

Two Liebherr 750-tonners operated by MSG Krandienst GmbH and Wiesbauer GmbH &Co. KG were erected in Er-ding at the request of crane service contractor AKM Auto-kranvermietung GmbH based in Munich. Equipped with Y guying and full ballast, the two heavy duty cranes got to work and hoisted the new glass roof into the correct position around 20 m in the air. The roof covers the new wave zone at Erding water world and can be half-opened. Immediately next to it is the new Therme Erding Hotel Victory which is also under construction.

The features of the LTM 1750-9.1 with its maximum load capacity of 750 tonnes includes its short setup times. The nine-axle model from Liebherr can carry its entire telescopic boom on public roads. A comprehensive range of equipment gives the new LTM 1750-9.1 an especially wide range of ap-plications: With the 52 m long telescopic boom, the Y-telescopic boom guying and a wide range of lattice jibs, the crane has a variety of boom systems and achieves hoisting heights up to 154 m and boom radii up to 112 m.
