Press releases | 09/17/2014 Scholl takes delivery of new Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane

  • The LTM 1300-6.2 replaces an LTM 1250-6.1
  • New 300-tonner with luffing jib is ideal for use in the chemicals industry
  • Karl Scholl GmbH has been a reliable partner for crane services and transport for more than 60 years

Karl Scholl GmbH from Heidelberg took delivery of an LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane at the Liebherr Plant in Ehingen during July. The new 300-tonner will replace an LTM 1250-6.1 in the crane and heavy forward contractor's fleet. The LTM 1300-6.2 provides higher load capacities and its 78m telescopic boom means an additional 6m in length over the 250-tonne model.

On the one hand the new LTM 1300-6.2 is designed as a simple folding jib crane whilst on the other it is the smallest luffing jib crane on the market providing crane operators with a low cost entry point into the luffing jib crane class. This means that the LTM 1300-6.2 is continuing the successful concept of the LTM 1250-6.1. This was an important criterion for Scholl Autokrane when reaching its decision for the new Liebherr crane.

Angelika Scholl, Managing Director, and Karl-Heinz Scholl, driver of the new LTM 1300-6.2 explained. "Liebherr's new development fits perfectly into our fleet from a logistics point of view. The LTM 1300-6.2 can be used quickly and flexibly. Its long telescopic boom and luffing jib make it ideal for use in the chemicals industry. That enables us to build on the success of the LTM 1250-6.1 and provide our customers with an even more powerful crane."

Karl Scholl GmbH was founded in 1953 and has been a reliable partner for everything involving crane services as well as large volume and heavy forwarding services. Scholl specialises in providing services to trade and industry and has its head office in Heidelberg as well as another office in Mosbach enable it to serve customers in the Rhine-Neckar conurbation, the Neckar-Odenwald district and neighbouring areas.

The family-owned company has a fleet of 16 mobile cranes with load capacities ranging from 30 to 300 tonnes. The new LTM 1300-6.2 is now the largest crane in its fleet. Its main areas of use will be in the chemicals industry as well as the erection of tower cranes and the assembly of heavy prefabricated parts.
