  • Compact model for deployment on restricted construction sites

The new R920 Compact crawler excavator, which was showcased for the first time at Bauma 2016, is now available worldwide. The compact model has been designed especially for use on restricted construction sites or in inner city areas.

The new Liebherr R 920 Compact crawler excavator with an operating weight between 19 and 21 tonnes is powered by a 110kW / 150HP engine and complies with the requirements of exhaust emissions Stage IV / Tier 4f. It has a SCR system with urea injection and oxidation catalyst. The particulate filters are available as an option.

The R 920 Compact from Liebherr combines the properties of a standard crawler excavator, such as high performance and versatility, with the advantages of a compact machine. With a compact swing of only 1850mm, it can be work effectively on construction sites where space is limited. The dimensions of the R 920 Compact ensure unrestricted movement around the jobsite and simple transport from one site to another.

Diverse equipment options, simple maintenance

The undercarriage, based on the Liebherr X design, improves the performance and extends the service life of the machine. The particularly reliable and robust travel mechanism is very easy to maintain and the integrated eyelets make it easy to secure and transport. The customer can choose from four undercarriage combinations with a bulldozer blade also available. Rubber track pads are also available as an option for urban operation sites. With this variety of equipment, the R 920 Compact covers a broad range of applications and meets a variety of specific customer requirements.

The new R 920 Compact crawler excavator has easy-to-access maintenance points with an innovative maintenance concept. For example, engine oil levels can be comfortably read from the ground. The standard central lubrication system also increases the service life of the components and the safety of the driver, who does not have to leave the cab for lubrication tasks. This reduces the daily maintenance effort, thus ensuring optimal machine availability and high productivity.

Comfort and safety

The cab of the new Liebherr R 920 Compact crawler excavator gives the operator an ergonomic and spacious work area. The standard air-suspension driver's seat, automatic air-conditioning and the high-resolution 7" colour touch screen offer maximum comfort. The fully retractable windscreen and the rear-view camera, integrated in the counterweight, ensure optimal visibility of the entire working area. An optional lateral camera can be installed for enhanced safety. The ROPS-certified cab structure protects the driver in the event of tipping and guarantees maximum safety. An emergency exit above the rear window is available for every excavator configuration.
