Thousands of visitors came to the Liebherr booth from April 21-25 at Expomin 2014 in Santiago, Chile. This international exposition is one of the most important trade shows for the global mining industry. During this year’s exhibition Liebherr displayed a range of construction, crane, and mining equipment at its booth. One of the main attractions of the show was the Liebherr T 264 mining truck. Measuring 23 feet tall (7 m) and with a maximum payload of 251 tons (228 t), this truck was one of the largest pieces of equipment on display. An estimated 8,000 visitors toured the truck during the show, and guests created between 1,800 and 2,200 postings about their visits on social media.

Liebherr’s presence at Expomin 2014 was also well-established in the local and international media. Stories about the booth and interviews with Liebherr personnel were reported on Antofagasta TV, TVN, CNN, La Red, UCV, and Chile Vision, as well as in magazines, newspaper and websites. Liebherr representatives from Chile, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, United States, France and Germany answered visitor questions and led tours of the equipment on display.

More than 1,640 exhibitors from 36 countries participated in Expomin 2014. The organization of the event estimates that close to 80,000 attendees came to the show this year, and 1,200 commercial meetings generated a projected $ 1,800 million in new business.
