Andy trained in the British Army (Royal Engineers) as a crane operator, working around the globe in a variety of unusual lifting environments.
After 12 years he left the Army to join the commercial crane hire industry in the North of England, where he gained extensive experience over a range of crane manufacturers and models.
In 2006 Andy joined Liebherr as their training manager in Biggleswade. He is a qualified CPCS trainer and tester and internal verifier.
Andy manages a team of dedicated instructors and enjoys developing the courses to keep up with customer demand, changes in legislation and new crane technology.
Craig initially worked and trained with Ainscough crane hire. Here he gained extensive knowledge of the crane hire business and a wide experience of different crane manufacturers and technologies.
He joined Liebherr in 2009 as a crane Operator Trainer, he has gone on to become a fully qualified CPCS tester and trainer and also works as an NVQ assessor.
As a training school instructor Craig upholds the highest levels of quality and professionalism and enjoys sharing his skills and passion on his courses.
Gordon served 13 years in the British Army (Royal Engineers) where he qualified as a Mobile Crane Driver and Slinger/Signaller. He worked in many unusual and challenging environments gaining extensive experience of crane operations.
He joined Liebherr in 2008 as an Operator Trainer and has trained operators on the various models of Liebherr cranes. He has supplemented his industry experience with continual training in house and at factory sites.
He is a fully qualified CPCS Trainer/Tester and NVQ Assessor in the categories of Appointed Person, Crane/Lifting Operations Supervisor, Mobile Crane Operator and Slinger/Signaller.
As part of the training team Gordon has been an instrumental part is training candidates to the highest standards expected by the industry.
Andrew Nichols has been operating mobile cranes for 18 years, driving a diverse range of machines for large hire fleets. He has also been involved in rigging, including working on large cranes both as a rigging driver and as a rigger during crane build-ups.
During his career in the industry he has worked with specialist cranes such as the Franna and lift and carry duty cranes. For the past eight years Andrew has worked freelance as an appointed person and lift supervisor for drilling companies and hire companies and has built up extensive industry knowledge across a very varied customer base.
Andrew has also worked in the TV and film industry.
At the age of 16 Martyn joined the British army (Royal Engineers) where he took on a number of roles and ultimately specialised as a crane operator gaining broad experience.
After seven years Martyn left the army and drove Class 1 HGVs for ten years before joining a local crane hire company. He spent ten years there getting lots of lifting industry experience on a variety of different machines and qualifying as a lift supervisor.
Martyn joined Liebherr in 2015 as an operator trainer. He has since qualified to become an Appointed Person, CPCS tester and lifting accessories examiner and is keen to pass on his knowledge and experience to the next generation of crane operators.
Ryan Brookes started working for Liebherr at the age of 17 as a business apprentice. As an apprentice he gained four years of experience in various roles and departments throughout the company.
After successfully completing his Level 3 and Level 4 NVQs in Business Administration, Ryan was able to secure a position as the Training Coordinator for Liebherr Training Services in Biggleswade.
