Pressing
The pressing process includes the following phases:
1. An installation advance of up to several metres can be achieved by activating the down-crowd force via the universal sledge.
2. The pressing cycle is started with a cylinder under the assistance of the down-crowd force.
3. Following with the second sheet pile.
4. Following with the third and fourth sheet pile.
5. Retraction of the pressing cylinders and simultaneous re-positioning of the universal sledge.
6. Alternate pressing of the sheet piles until the projected depth is reached.

Pressing installs the piles using static forces. This process is suitable for installing and extracting sheet piles. The presses are mounted and leader guided on the carrier machines of the LRB series. They consist of four hydraulic cylinders which are connected to the single sheet piles via clamps. During pressing three sheet piles absorb reaction forces and the fourth sheet pile is pressed in or extracted.
The pressing process is completely free of vibration and low in noise emission. Therefore it is especially suitable for installing sheet pile walls in inner-city areas.
