Development of the ICE 3.1 Re-Design Program by DB Fernverkehr AG can be continued as planned: in March, six months after signing the contract, Liebherr-Transportation Systems delivered an environmentally-friendly air cycle system. In Nuremberg, DB equips the first car of an eight-part test train with this system. When the trial phase is successfully completed, the train will be deployed for passenger transport from the summer of 2015 for several months. Meeting the delivery date for the air conditioning system, which was guaranteed in a contractual agreement, is an important milestone on the road to timely conversion of the first ICE 3.1 RED prototype.

Experts from DB Fernverkehr AG worked closely with specialists from Liebherr-Transportation Systems to develop the system. At the end of February 2015, the jointly designed system successfully completed the first article inspection.
