Specialist in metal technology – construction technology
As a specialist in metal technology, you will machine and process metal parts using a variety of methods, to produce components and metal structures.

Welding individual parts of a crane together
With a focus on construction technology, you will produce steel structures from sheet materials, pipes and sections, for example, and join these together using various welding methods. You will also plan the individual work steps based on technical documentation, decide on a suitable production method, and choose the correct tools and machinery for the job – to produce a perfectly functioning assembly or structure. To manufacture the individual parts of the structure you will cut sheet metal to size, bend it and drill it, for example. As well as machining the workpieces, you will plan the assembly of the metal structures, and assemble them with reference to plans, regulations and inspection requirements. Finally you will check your work, e.g. the quality of welded and soldered joints.
