Large hydraulic excavators for extreme conditions

Extremely large machines are produced in Colmar. The largest excavator in the product range of Liebherr-Mining Equipment Colmar SAS is a giant: the R 9800 is 11 metres high and, with a curb weight of 800 tonnes, it is nearly three times the weight of an Airbus A380. Just like other giant hydraulic excavators from Colmar, it is used throughout the world under extreme conditions: in gold, platinum, coal, and other mines.

In addition to mining excavators, Liebherr develops and manufactures giant dredging excavators for marine applications, which can dig down as far as 26 metres. All excavators from Colmar benefit from Liebherr's more than 50 years of experience in the design and construction of hydraulic excavators.
