BMS takes delivery of first Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2 mobile crane

Danish crane and heavy haulage contractor BMS took delivery of the very first LTM 1090-4.2 in mid-December 2017. Liebherr first unveiled the 90-tonne crane in March of the same year at the Conexpo in Las Vegas. The new 4-axle crane is extremely flexible since it can travel with axle loads of 10 tonnes, 12 tonnes and 16 tonnes. It features a 60-metre telescopic boom, a whole 10 metres more than its predecessor, the LTM 1090-4.1. Find out more

250th Liebherr MK 88 mobile construction crane goes to BKV

Liebherr has supplied the 250th MK 88 to Barneveldse Kraanverhuur (BKV). The Dutch crane contractor is a long-term customer of the construction machine manufacturer and already uses a large number of Liebherr machines for its wide range of work. Find out more

Riga-Mainz completes impressive job with trio of powerful Liebherr cranes

Riga-Mainz produced an impressive performance in a demanding crane and heavy load job involving the installation of a bridge in Essen during November. A steel bridge weighing 418 tonnes and measuring around 50 metres in length had to be positioned over a section of railway track. One of the cranes involved was the new Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 mobile crane. Find out more

Christmas tree erected for luxury hotel in St. Moritz

It made a nice change for Swiss construction contractor Hartmann and its Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 mobile crane. At the end of November, the 60-tonne crane erected a 12-metre Christmas tree in front of the Badrutt’s Palace luxury hotel in St. Moritz. The three tonne fir tree with Christmas decorations creates a festive highlight in the entrance of the 5 star hotel. Find out more

First Liebherr LRT rough-terrain cranes delivered

Wasel GmbH Schwerlastlogistik accepted two rough-terrain cranes of the new LRT series from the Liebherr plant in Ehingen at the end of November. With the LRT 1090-2.1 and the LRT 1100-2.1, the company now has the first machines of this new series. The company primarily plans to deploy both rough-terrain cranes in opencast mining as well as on major construction sites with long periods of use. Find out more

Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1 completes gantry crane installation in constricted conditions

LTM 11200-9.1 mobile crane assembles special Liebherr construction crane for Max Bögl energy storage project

Tower cranes were assembled in September on the natural electricity storage site at Gaildorf, an innovative energy storage project being completed by the Max Bögl Group in southern Germany. The contractor erected the highest wind turbines in the world there. Max Bögl is combining the wind turbines with a pumped-storage power plant. A Liebherr mobile crane was used to assemble the 630 EC-H top-slewing cranes from the same manufacturer. On the site near Schwäbisch Hall, the LTM 11200-9.1 assembled the three massive construction cranes on the 40-metre high foundations of the wind turbines which are also used as water storage basins. New 500-tonne crane in action with Steil

Steil Kranarbeiten based in Trier has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile crane. Outstanding mobility, an 84-metre telescopic boom and continuous improvements made to the renowned crane model were the main reasons behind the purchase decision. For its first job, the new Liebherr 500-tonne crane worked with another LTM 1500-8.1 from Steil to complete a tandem hoist of a 185 tonne gas turbine in Luxembourg. Find out more

Liebherr LR 1350/1 crawler crane involved in rotary kiln construction

The HeidelbergCement AG cement works in Schelklingen, Baden-Württemberg, has invested in a new rotary kiln system 68 metres in length. The main challenge in the project was to hoist the five components of the rotary kiln up to a height of 11 metres in a restrictive space. A Liebherr LR 1350/1 crawler crane from Belgian crane and heavy haulage contractor Sarens managed the job with aplomb. Furthermore a new Liebherr mobile crane is on the way to the Australian branch of the company. The new 8-axle LTM 1450-8.1 was ordered as a result of good past experience with crane manufacturer Liebherr. Find out more

Trio of Liebherr mobile cranes scales mountains

Austrian crane and heavy haulage contractor Felbermayr has erected a wind farm on a range of medium-height mountains in Styria. The 13 turbines made by Enercon were completed over the summer months. Transporting the turbine components to the site at an altitude of 1700 metres presented the main challenge to the Felbermayr teams. Find out more
