Based in Uruguay, Montecon S.A. proactively responds to ever larger vessels. The latest investment is the most advanced mobile solution for the handling of large container vessels. The Liebherr mobile harbour crane LHM 800 provides an eye level of more than 40 metres in container handling configuration. The fulcrum point is above 36 metres which naturally eases the handling of vessels. Thanks to its mighty outreach of 64 metres, the LHM 800 is able to efficiently service container vessels which are as wide as 22 container rows. The LHM 800 continues the LHM-range’s tradition of high working speeds by hoisting and lowering containers with 120 metres per minute. This allows for up to 45 boxes per hour.

Montecon has been using Liebherr mobile harbour cranes for more than 14 years. In 2001, Liebherr delivered the first two mobile harbour cranes, type LHM 400, to the Uruguayan company. In 2016, Liebherr is going to deliver the world’s largest mobile harbour crane to Uruguay. The LHM 800 will be the eighth LHM for Montecon.
