Liebherr to Supply Roll Coupling Components for Combino Low-Floor Trams in Potsdam

Liebherr-Transportation Systems has received an order from Siemens AG, Vienna (Austria) to supply roll coupling components for eight Combino low-floor trams. The trams will be operated by Verkehrsbetriebe Potsdam GmbH, Potsdam (Germany). The order comprises a total of 48 control cylinders, 24 hydraulic accumulators and 24 stop valves, and will be delivered by the end of 2017. Find out more

Brazilian crane contractor LOCAR updates its crane fleet with 4 new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile cranes

Crane, heavy haulage and aerial platform contractor LOCAR from Brazil took delivery of four new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile cranes at a stroke. New technical developments such as VarioBase®, VarioBallast® and the single-engine concept were important criteria for the purchase. Liebherr crawler excavator R 926 in action during coastal repair work on the island of Texel

World Premier: First Ever 3D Printed Primary Flight Control Component from Liebherr-Aerospace Flown on an Airbus Aircraft

On March 30th 2017, Airbus successfully flew Liebherr-Aerospace’s 3D printed spoiler actuator valve block on a flight test A380. It is the first 3D printed primary flight control hydraulic component flown on an Airbus aircraft. Find out more

Milestone anniversary: Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH delivers 50,000th wheel loader

The 50,000th Liebherr wheel loader has rolled off the production line at Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH. The anniversary machine, an L 566 XPower®, will be delivered to long-standing Liebherr customer Geiger Unternehmensgruppe. Geiger‘s Managing Partner Pius Geiger and Geiger Logistik’s Managing Director Gernot Beer travelled to Bischofshofen to pick up the anniversary wheel loader in person. Find out more

Gulf Haulage Heavy Lift Company erects the first wind turbine in Saudi Arabia using a Liebherr LR 1750 crawler crane

Heavy haulage and heavy lift contractor Gulf Haulage Heavy Lift Company (GHHL) has erected the first wind turbine in Saudi Arabia. A Liebherr LR 1750 crawler crane was used to erect the 84 metre tower, the 83 tonne nacelle and the 60 metre blades. The wind turbine in Turaif in the north-east of Saudi Arabia will generate power for a bulk plant facility operated by state oil company Saudi Aramco. Find out more

First Liebherr R 922 crawler excavator for low regulated markets operating in China

At bauma 2016 in Munich, Liebherr presented its new model series of the crawler excavators R 920, R 922 and R 924 for the first time. Meeting the requirements of customers from low regulated markets, these machines are specifically based on tried-and-tested European standards. A new R 922 built by Liebherr Machinery (Dalian) Co. Ltd has been working for the Xi’an Tianyi Earth-moving Co. Ltd since August 2016. This excavator is one of the first machines from the new model series operating in China. Find out more

Mamut de Colombia building a new metro line in Panama City using several Liebherr mobile cranes

Colombian crane contractor Mamut de Colombia is currently working on the construction of metro line 2 in Panama City. This involves two Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile cranes and a Liebherr LTM 1400-7.1 crane hoisting a total of 1640 U-shaped concrete beams weighing up to 161 tonnes onto prefabricated pillars by the end of 2018.
