Indonesia

The Liebherr R 996 mining excavator at Sangatta coal mine, Indonesia Operated by PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC).

Since 1997, Liebherr has delivered to KPC a large fleet of 600t and 800t class hydraulic excavators complemented by some 100t excavators as well as a fleet of 363t off-highway trucks to satisfy KPC’s global coal output challenging objectives while maintaining the best cost efficiency.

Chile

The Liebherr T 284 Mining Truck at Collahuasi copper mine, Chile.

The main challenge of operating at the Collahuasi mine is the altitude, which reaches more than 4,800 meters (15,700 ft) in some sections of the mine.

The design of the T 284 and the implementation of the high altitude package has helped Collahuasi maintain its production rates, which are similar to its previous year.

Australia

The Liebherr PR 776 Mining Dozer in operation at Rix's Creek mine, Australia.

The aim was to study the performance of the PR 776 against

its competitor machine, in the largest market in Australia for

the current benchmark 70 tonne class mining dozer. This

was enabled through the firm partnership between Liebherr

and Rix's Creek mine: a well-established and reputable miner

with extensive knowledge of the market and existing fleet of

competitor machines.

South Africa

The Liebherr R 9200 Mining Excavator at Beeshoek iron ore mine, South Africa Operated by Assmang Pty. Ltd.

As this machine demonstrated high performances and has

performed successfully by exceeding production expectation

continuously, Assmang itself decided to own it for Beeshoek Mine.

Israel

The Liebherr R 9150 Mining Excavator at the Rotem phosphate mine, Israel Operated by Taavura Holdings Ltd.

Mining at Rotem mine site is carried out by three contractors using Liebherr 100 t class excavators. One of those is Taavura Holdings Ltd., a Liebherr dealer and customer since 1979 for earthmoving equipment, mining excavators and mobile cranes.

Russia

The Liebherr R 9150 Mining Excavator at Udachny kimberlite (diamond) mine, Russia operated by ALROSA.

The working conditions and the climate at this site are extremely harsh as mining is being done in permafrost ground where temperatures vary from –55°C to +40˚C (–67ºF to +104ºF).

In order to meet ALROSA´s requirements, a Liebherr R 9150 mining excavator has been chosen to fulfil this challenge.

Panama

The Liebherr R 9100 Mining Excavator at Cobre Panama operated by First Quantum Minerals Ltd.

The first Liebherr R 9100 mining excavator was commissioned at the end of 2014 and there are currently eight R 9100 excavators in operation. The fleet also includes two Liebherr R 9350 mining excavators, twelve PR 744 and four PR 754 crawler tractors.

Fleet of mining excavator R 996 B and haul truck T 282 C at the Mt Arthur coal mine operated by BHP Billiton in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia.

As a result of planned increasing mine production and being located less than 10km from a large town, the mine installed sound attenuation features on the excavators and trucks.

Liebherr demonstrates that the new fleet would fall within the stringent environmental noise limits.
