This new success of Liebherr-Aerospace highlights the proximity of the company to its customers worldwide. The contract also stands for further support activities of Liebherr in Africa.

The discussion between Airlink and Liebherr-Aerospace started in 2017, when Airlink was receiving its first E-Jet. This contract is the result of two years of a growing trustful relationship during which the airline took delivery of no less than 13 aircraft.

With a fleet that includes 28 ERJ-145 and 13 E-Jet E170/E190, Airlink has become South Africa's major independent regional feeder airline, connecting 55+ routes in southern Africa and St Helena Island.

The complete landing gear system for the E-Jet family (E170, E175, E190 and E195) was developed by Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, Lindenberg (Germany), Liebherr’s center of competence for flight controls and landing gear systems.
