LTM 1250-5.1 - The most powerful 5-axle crane on the market!
The LTM 1250-5.1 features enormous load capacities. Our designers had a clear concept to follow in the development of this crane – to get the maximum lifting capacity from the available weight of a 5-axle mobile crane! The result is that the LTM 1250-5.1 is now the most powerful crane on five axles in the world. VarioBallast® enables it to deliver maximum lifting capacities with a large ballast radius, making it perfect for use on constricted sites with a small ballast radius. And it achieves this by quickly adjusting the ballast in seconds. The crane can be fitted with a multi-functional folding jib, a long lowering fixed jib or a rigid powerful jib. Our proven VarioBase®, ECOmode and ECOdrive technologies make the LTM 1250-5.1 particularly safe and efficient.

ECOmode
ECOmode minimises both fuel consumption and noise emissions when operating the crane superstructure. The crane operator sets the required working speed using the control lever. The crane control system calculates the perfect engine speed for the diesel engine.
ECOdrive
ECOdrive makes the mobile crane significantly more comfortable and quieter by reducing the engine speed. Faster gearshifting delivers greater dynamic and traction offroad. On the road, the torque from the Liebherr diesel engine is used efficiently to minimise fuel consumption.
Single-engine concept
Take one engine out to increase lifting capacity. Or more accurately – the superstructure is powered by the undercarriage engine. Gear shafts are routed from the distributor gear in the substructure via two mitre gears to the pump distributor gear in the superstructure. That enables us to remove one engine – and we use this to increase the crane’s lifting capacity.
Hillstart-Aid
Hillstart-Aid makes starting on gradients easier. Move off safely and easily without rolling backwards.
VarioBase®
VarioBase makes the crane’s support system variable. It enables each outrigger to be extended to a different length. This enhances safety – particularly in constricted spaces. And what's more, the crane’s lifting capacities are significantly increased, particularly over the outriggers and depending on the configuration.
VarioBallast® (mechanical)
Mechanically slewing ballasting cylinders enable the ballast radius to be changed quickly to two different settings. The smaller radius is used in constricted conditions whilst the larger one is used if a higher lifting capacity is required. This significantly increases the crane’s flexibility.
Increased flexibility and safety by using lifting capacity tables with different maximum wind speeds.
The crane cabin on this crane can be telescoped into the air with infinite adjustment. The better view from above of the load and working environment significantly increases safety during crane operations – and driver comfort is also massively enhanced.
