Surface treatment specialists process metallic and other material surfaces using mechanical, electrochemical or chemical and physical processes.
This includes pretreatment and aftertreatment as well as coating (e.g. chrome plating, nickel plating, anodizing). These treatments serve to protect against wear and corrosion. As a surface treatment specialist, you make an essential contribution in this way towards safeguarding the function and longevity of important components in the aviation industry, such as landing gear.
Moreover, you ensure that the chemicals used are handled correctly and in an eco-friendly manner. This is why water and waste water treatment also fall within your area of responsibility. Similarly, you independently analyze the chemical solutions required for the treatment, determine work procedures, check the galvanically treated workpieces and safeguard their quality.
