Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH is celebrating its 50,000th wheel loader

On 11th April, 2017 Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen is celebrating a really special event: the handover of the 50,000th Liebherr wheel loader.

The anniversary machine, an L 566 XPower, will be delivered to long-standing Liebherr customer Geiger Unternehmensgruppe. This is a particularly good reason for the plant and its about 1,000 employees to celebrate. The wheel loader experts at Liebherr have been setting new mile stones in terms of engineering and design for decades. And this is also true of the emission Stage IV / Tier 4f anniversary wheel loader, the L 566 XPower.

In collaboration with Geiger Unternehmensgruppe, Liebherr put together a special paintwork design for this machine. With a combination of gold and Geiger's company colours, this wheel loader not only convinces at the quarry on the basis of its technology but also catches the eye in terms of design. XPower represents the comprehensive, innovative machine concept of the latest Liebherr large wheel loaders. It combines efficiency, performance, durability and convenience. The XPower split drive guarantees excellent levels of fuel savings for any requirements.

The history of the development of Liebherr wheel loaders

For decades now, Liebherr has been grabbing attention with its innovative wheel loaders and setting mile stones in wheel loader engineering, particularly in the field of driveline technology. The first Liebherr wheel loader was designed and built in Kirchdorf in 1954. This laid the foundations for the production of the current Liebherr wheel loaders.
