For the first time, Liebherr presents its mining diesel engine portfolio on the African market. Southern Africa's biggest tradeshow since 1972, the Electra Mining Africa in Johannesburg, offers the right platform to showcase the latest innovations and technologies. Therefore, the Liebherr Components division has chosen the show to present its D98 diesel engine series to the professional public in South Africa. The Liebherr engine portfolio for mining applications stand out through its remarkable dynamic behaviour in medium and heavy-duty cycles, even under the toughest ambient conditions. From September 10 to 14, 2018, the D9812 engine, which has been recently added to the Liebherr diesel engine portfolio, will be on display, featuring a power output of up to 2,013 kW.

Following the bench testing phase, the D9812 is currently proving itself in the field. “In fact, different field tests are currently ongoing at different sites and in different machines”, explains Dr. Ingo Wintruff, Marketing and Sales Managing Director Diesel Engines at Liebherr. “For example, in Virginia (USA) the engine is currently running in the Liebherr T264 truck. Parallel to it, the D9812 is also being tested under real conditions in the Liebherr R9400 excavator at a cement plant located in Héming, Northeast of France.”

The exhibition team of Liebherr Components welcomes the opportunity to introduce its mining engines to the global industry and professional public at Electra Mining Africa. To learn more about this specific mining engine, visit us at the booth E5 in hall 9.
