The new stereoloader – a revolution in manoeuvrability
At the start of the 1990s, there was an increase in demand for wheel loaders that could perform their work in the smallest of spaces without any issues. The main problem with all of the previous wheel loader models was the lack of manoeuvrability.
The Liebherr design engineers looked for a solution. They combined all of the previous concepts on the market together. The Liebherr designers introduced the stereoloader concept for the smaller units in 1994. They featured particularly high levels of comfort and safety due to a centre pivot with a steered axle on the rear and the combination of oscillating centre pivot and pendulum axles. This gives them advantages in terms of manoeuvrability over the standard units which have either centre-pivot steering only or all-wheel steering.
An outstanding position feature of the stereoloader is the unique steering system. This provides the stereoloader with a 20 per cent smaller turning radius compared to the competition. Liebherr now has three stereoloader models in the range, the L 507, L 509 and the L 514 Stereo.
