The first day of Conexpo 2014 exceeded the expectations for the Liebherr Group: Numerous guests from the Americas and beyond came to the Liebherr booth to visit the broad range of equipment for multiple industries and job applications the company has on show.
Conexpo is the largest construction equipment exhibition in North America. The Liebherr booth covers 50,000 ft² (4,600 m²) and provides room for earthmoving equipment, a deep foundation machine, material handlers, tower cranes, mobile and crawler cranes as well as a concrete pump. Liebherr alos presents various components from the mechanical, hydraulic and electric drive systems areas.

At the end of September, what is now the world’s tallest wind turbine was completed. A Liebherr LR 11350 crawler crane from Schmidbauer GmbH & Co. KG was used in the construction of the prototype of the so-called GICON high-altitude wind turbine in Lusatia, Brandenburg.

For the filming of a new ARD/WDR series in Germany’s Ruhr region, the production team at Sally Forth Cinema used Liebherr’s Liduro Power Port (LPO 100) mobile energy storage system for the first time. Over a period of 33 filming days, the battery storage system ensured a reliable power supply for the entire base camp.
