A total of 16 refrigeration and freezing devices of the new BluPerformance equipment generation received the Red Dot Award in the “Product Design” category. The international jury was made up of design experts who evaluated the submitted products - in a process lasting several days - based on criteria such as degree of innovation, quality, functionality and ecological compatibility.
With more than 5,200 submissions from 57 nations, Liebherr was able to secure the coveted seal of approval this year as well. The refrigeration and freezing devices score points with their timeless design, high quality interior and also harmonious lighting concept. With the BluPerformance equipment generation, Liebherr presents not only optically appealing devices but also a series of particularly energy-efficient and future-orientated refrigeration and freezing equipment.
The origins of the Red Dot Award date as far back as 1954. Today, it is considered to be one of the biggest and renowned design competitions in the world. The official award ceremony takes place on 4 July 2016 in the Aalto theater in Essen with an audience of more than 1,200 international guests.

Liebherr is increasing the overall service life of its Fibre ropes from 14 to 16 years, with the decisive period of use rising to up to 12 years. This is based on multi-year ageing trials on test rigs and analyses of ropes already in field. The new ruling applies automatically to all new ropes and those already in the field.
