Liebherr-Transportation Systems has been contracted by Pars nova, a subsidiary company of Škoda Transportation, to refurbish the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems on board Siemens trains.
The contract covers an upgrade and overhaul package for 63 HVAC systems fitted on Siemens passenger coaches that are operated by České Dráhy a.s., Prague (Czech Republic), on the route from Hamburg (Germany) to Prague.
The refurbishment of the HVAC units will be carried out by service technicians in Liebherr-Transportation Systems’ workshop in Korneuburg (Austria), and will substantially enhance the performance and reliability of the air conditioning systems.
“The contract underlines our outstanding technical experience in cooling systems and our competence in providing the best solutions when it comes to heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for passenger coaches,” commented Dirk Junghans, Managing Director Sales, Marketing and Customer Service of Liebherr-Transportation Systems GmbH & Co KG. Pars nova is further holding open the option of extending the contract with eight further HVAC systems.

At InnoTrans 2026, Liebherr will unveil its new railroad excavator for the first time: the RE 22 M Litronic. This model expands the existing range to include a machine in the 22-tonne class with hydrostatic rail-wheel drive and is the successor to the A 922 Rail and A 924 Rail. The machine combines tried-and-tested components from the A 922 Rail with a newly developed undercarriage and a new operator's cab.
