Liebherr presents new fuel injection solutions in China

At the leading international exhibition on internal combustion engine technology, Engine China 2018, Liebherr presents its newly-developed hydraulic injection components to the Chinese market for the first time. These are specifically designed for engines in the power class from 1 to 2.7-litre displacement per cylinder. With the LI1 injector platform and the matching LP7.2 high pressure pump, Liebherr's Components Division is expanding its portfolio of injection technologies for use in light-, medium- and heavy-duty engines.

The slim, compact design and flexible connection dimensions of the LI1 injector platform allow for maximum freedom in terms of engine installation space. Due to the smart Injection Timing Control function (ITC) no additional connector interfaces are necessary.

The oil-lubricated roller tappet LP7.2 common rail high pressure pump is particularly small, lightweight as well as compact in construction and therefore keeps energy loss and dead volume to a minimum, with a corresponding increase in efficiency. Digital inlet valves control the fuel supply.

Furthermore, Liebherr presents the injector platform LI2 as side feed and top feed variants and nozzle configurations in 7 and 9 mm. All variants of the injector platform are successfully validated for a system pressure of 2,500 bar, resulting in better combustion and increased efficiency of the engine. The functionality of the injectors thus complies with the latest emissions regulations, allowing engine manufacturers to meet the current and future emission levels.

steinexpo 2026: Liebherr showcases its expertise in machinery and digital innovations for the extraction industry
At steinexpo 2026 from 2 to 5 September 2026, Liebherr will be showcasing eight exhibits from its earthmoving, mining and components product ranges. A world first will be unveiled at stand A27, which covers an exhibition space of around 1,000 m². Also on display are a dump truck, two XPower wheel loaders, two Generation 8 crawler dozers, a grid-connected electric mining excavator, a telescopic handler and a mobile energy storage system.
