Liebherr-Hausgeräte presents new fridge-freezers in energy efficiency class A -20%

Electrical appliances have the greatest impact on the environment during their use phase, when the appliance is constantly in operation, day in day out. For many years, Liebherr-Hausgeräte has remained focused on high energy efficiency when developing its products to produce appliances with the lowest energy consumption possible. To do this, the company uses long-lasting materials that not only ensure the performance of the appliance but also bring customers long-term joy with their high-quality look and finish.

With its current product portfolio, Liebherr-Hausgeräte has once again impressively demonstrated its commitment to making a sustainable impact on the market with its outstanding energy efficiency. In addition to the large number of fridges and freezers already in high energy efficiency classes, or even the top energy efficiency class A, Liebherr is now adding models that surpass energy efficiency class A by –10 to –30 percent to its portfolio.

Liebherr offers maximum energy efficiency – freestanding or fully integrated

With the CBNbsa20 575i model, the development team at Liebherr-Hausgeräte has managed to further reduce the already amazingly low energy consumption figures of this fridge-freezer, moving it from energy efficiency class A –10 percent to energy efficiency class A –20 percent. Continually improving products and developing innovations so that customers can have the best possible cooling solutions are the key incentive for Liebherr developers.

The CBNbsa20 575i from the Prime series is one of the appliances fitted with the Liebherr technology BioFresh, which can keep fruit and vegetables fresh for up to five times longer thanks to ideal humidity and temperatures close to 0 °C. The appliance is also visually stunning, in black stainless steel with a unique vertical brushed texture and a special finish that makes it resistant to scratches and finger prints. It is also fitted with a SmartDeviceBox and is easy to connect to your home WiFi and control using the Liebherr SmartDevice app.

In 2024, Liebherr-Hausgeräte launched the world’s first fully integrated fridge-freezer in energy efficiency class A: the ICBa 5123. This model is high quality and comes fully equipped, including with BioFresh technology – two BioFresh drawers are available: the Fruit & Vegetable safe and the Meat & Dairy safe. In both drawers the temperature is close to 0 °C, providing the ideal storage conditions for even the most delicate of foods. Combined with the constant humidity in the Fruit & Vegetable safe (thanks to the air-tight closure), unpackaged fruit and vegetables feel particularly at home here. There is nothing else for the customer to do – everything is perfectly adjusted in the factory for immediate use and for longer freshness. The same goes for the Meat & Dairy safe.

Energy efficiency and the circular economy: hand in hand thanks to BluRoX technology

Unsurpassed in energy efficiency to date, Liebherr BluRox technology continues to impress. The first series appliance to contain this advanced insulation method is the FNXa 522i freezer. BluRoX is a pioneering Liebherr technology that features perlite, finely ground volcanic rock, in a vacuum insulation. An appliance with this technology can achieve outstanding energy efficiency and a larger freezing volume with the same exterior dimensions.

The unique and patented BluRoX technology ensures optimal thermal conductivity. It significantly lowers energy consumption and sets new standards in sustainable refrigeration. With the aim of developing a circular economy, BluRoX technology is also easy to repair and its materials can be reused, laying the foundations for a responsible and sustainable life cycle. This has earned BluRoX the industry-leading Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze certification for a circular economy. The Liebherr FNXa 522i freezer will be available from 2026.
