Global cooperation: Liebherr and Yuchai Power join forces

As part of an official delegation trip, the Liebherr components product segment visited Guangxi Yuchai Power Co., Ltd. to further deepen the existing partnership and to explore new strategic project opportunities.

Yuchai Power has significantly expanded its presence in numerous industrial applications for large engines, including mining, oil and gas drilling, petroleum fracturing, as well as construction machinery. Aiming to meet the diverse requirements of its customers, the company has comprehensively modernised its existing engine platforms.

Liebherr is one of the world's leading suppliers not only in the construction machinery industry, but also in engine and common rail injection solutions. The company has vast experience in vehicle and engine applications, as well as in the development of advanced injection technology for large engines.

Building on their respective strengths, Liebherr and Yuchai Power have signed a memorandum of understanding for a comprehensive partnership. The two companies pursue the goal of advancing common rail injection systems for high-performance diesel engines and intensifying research, development and testing of injection technologies for alternative fuels in the context of the energy transition.

Numerous high-ranking representatives from both companies took part in the signing ceremony, including Pietro Iemmi, managing director of Liebherr-Component Technologies AG, Wang Xiuhong, chairwoman of Yuchai Power, Olav Altmann, managing director of Liebherr-Components Deggendorf GmbH, Nie Guangyu, head of division Liebherr-Components in China, Tan Dahui, general manager of Yuchai Power and Sun Wei, chief engineer at Yuchai Power. Their presence underlines the strategic importance of cooperation in the field of drive technologies – both in terms of the requirements of the Chinese and international markets and in the context of the decades-long, proven, pioneering partnership between the two companies.
