Brazilian crane contractor LOCAR updates its crane fleet with 4 new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile cranes

LOCAR takes delivery of four Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile cranes at a stroke
The LTM 1250-5.1 is the most powerful 5-axle mobile crane on the market
It is the successor to the successful LTM 1220-5.2

Crane, heavy haulage and aerial platform contractor LOCAR from Brazil took delivery of four new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile cranes at a stroke. New technical developments such as VarioBase®, VarioBallast® and the single-engine concept were important criteria for the purchase. LOCAR has updated its crane fleet with these four new 250-tonne cranes.

In addition to a hydraulic folding jib and VarioBase®, all four LTM 1250-5.1 cranes feature an FMS interface. This fleet management system interface can be used to read vehicle data which can then be evaluated using systems from various telemetry service providers. The benefits for the crane contractor include the visualisation of crane data, such as tracking, operating status, mileage, downtimes and much more. The LTM 1250-5.1 features the new Liebherr single-engine concept, with the superstructure being powered by a mechanical shaft. The powerful engine meets the Stage IV / Tier 4f emissions regulations. In terms of safety, all the safety equipment on the four cranes complies with the EN 13000 standard.

More than 150 units of the previous LTM 1220-5.1 and LTM 1220-5.2 models have been supplied to customers in Brazil in past years. Demand for the new LTM 1250-5.1 is already so good that Liebherr is assuming that this new crane model will continue the company's success story in Brazil with this lifting capacity class.

The company currently has a workforce of 1200 people and has 250 mobile cranes in its fleet.
