Following the presentation of two EuroTest awards already at Bauma 2016, Liebherr has now picked up two "Excellence In Equipment Engineering" awards from the trade journal Diesel Progress. The award ceremony took place at the exhibition stand of its cooperative venture partner ZF.
The award is presented in twelve different categories. The magazines Diesel Progress International and Diesel Progress North American asked readers to submit their votes. Around 23,000 votes altogether were submitted. In the mobile cranes category the LTC 1050-3.1 received more than 60 percent of the votes. "This corresponds to almost our market share", stated Dr. Ulrich Hamme with a wink. The Managing Director Technology accepted the award on behalf of Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH, who manufactures the mobile crane.
Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH received the award in the wheel loader category for the L 566 XPower®. Dr. Herbert Pfab, Head of Development for wheel loaders, accepted the award and explained the ulterior motive of the technical innovation: "The new XPower wheel loaders L 550 to L 586 represent a milestone in the technology history of Liebherr wheel loaders. Liebherr-XPower is an integral and innovative machine concept which sets new standards in terms of fuel efficiency, performance, robustness and comfort. The core element of the XPower wheel loader is the power-split travel drive which conforms to stage IV / Tier 4f. Liebherr offers this driveline as standard in these machines."
