The successful Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) audits regarding the recertification of chemical processes within the production department took place at Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH and Liebherr Aerospace Brasil LTDA in Guaratinguetá.
During the audits, a central and independent organization, the Performance Review Institute (PRI), reviews the manufacturing processes according to an industry agreed checklist. PRI then writes a report and forwards it to a task group consisting of members from the industry. They review the document and vote for approval (or not). In case of a positive vote, PRI subsequently issues the so-called Nadcap accreditation.
“We have not only achieved the targets we set ourselves, but also set new standards,” said Martin Wandel, Chief Operating Officer at Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS. “With this result, we have achieved Nadcap Gold Status in Lindenberg, which is associated with an extended audit interval of 24 months. Furthermore, we were able to extend the Silver Status in Guaratinguetá, which is associated with an extended audit interval of 18 months. These are excellent results, our teams can be proud of.”
For the two Liebherr sites in Lindenberg and Guaratinguetá, the Nadcap certification process and the experience gained along the way is a good opportunity and a constant incentive for further development. As the review and assessment is done objectively and transparently by PRI, an independent body, Liebherr-Aerospace’s progress towards business excellence is well traceable also for third parties.
