With the acquisition of a Liebherr LTM 1400-6.1, the Australian Everwilling Group is expanding its fleet with the world’s most powerful 6-axle mobile crane. The 450-tonne crane is the first mobile crane of this type in Australia and marks a significant milestone for the family-owned company based in New South Wales. Key factors in the purchase decision included the high lifting capacity, compact design and advanced technology of the Liebherr LTM 1400-6.1.
“A few years ago, we identified the need to replace our LTM 1300-6.1 with a crane that is equally compact on site and on the road, while offering significantly higher lifting capacity,” says Steve Allen, General Manager of the Everwilling Group. “The increasing demand for heavy-lift solutions in major infrastructure and industrial projects in New South Wales further reinforced our decision in favour of the Liebherr LTM 1400-6.1.” With this investment, the company is responding to growing customer requirements while reinforcing its long-term commitment to strengthening its operational capabilities.
Proven reliability and long-term performance were not only important considerations, but a decisive factor for the Everwilling Group in the fleet renewal decision. The company’s experience with its existing Liebherr equipment played a key role in selecting the new crane.
A striking example is the LTM 1300 6.1, delivered in 2009. With more than 25,000 operating hours, the 300 tonne mobile crane has consistently demonstrated its capabilities under demanding operating conditions. High availability, reliability and consistently strong performance have characterised its service life over many years. Following its replacement, the crane will be traded back, professionally refurbished and reintroduced to the market. This lifecycle underlines the durability, residual value and sustained performance of Liebherr mobile cranes, even after many years of intensive use.
The Liebherr LTM 1400-6.1 mobile crane is considered a benchmark in its class. High lifting capacity, long reach and modern crane technology enable a wide range of applications. “We see the LTM 1400-6.1 as the optimal combination of performance and efficiency,” says Allen. “We were particularly impressed by its high mobility, short setup times and advanced safety and control systems, which significantly increase efficiency on site.” As the world’s most powerful 6-axle crane, the new model provides the Everwilling Group with a clear competitive advantage in the heavy-lift segment.
The new large crane will primarily be used for major infrastructure and industrial construction projects. These include the installation of steel and precast concrete components, the construction of data centres, as well as maintenance and general high-capacity lifting operations. “With the LTM 1400-6.1, we are significantly expanding our capabilities and can support customers even in complex and technically demanding projects,” emphasises Allen. “It will be the largest crane in our fleet and will play a key role in our company’s future growth”.
A key factor in the investment decision was the long-standing and trusted partnership with Liebherr. The Australian group values the quality, innovation and reliability of the mobile cranes, as well as the comprehensive service and support. “In an investment of this magnitude, trust is crucial,” says Allen. “Liebherr stands for machines that both our crane operators and our customers can rely on. Our relationship is so strong that we consider Liebherr to be part of our family business.”
The Everwilling Group was founded in 1982 by Gordon Henderson and is an Australian, family-owned group of companies. With around 90 employees and a fleet of 25 cranes – including 14 Liebherr cranes – it operates in the construction sector.
