Liebherr delivers 100th LTM 1750-9.1 to Belgian crane contractor Dufour

  • One hundred LTM 1750-9.1 mobile cranes delivered to customers around the world
  • The reliability of Liebherr cranes pays dividends for buyers
  • LTM 1750-9.1 now the largest Liebherr mobile crane in the Dufour fleet

During its customer days at its manufacturing plant in June 2012, Liebherr unveiled the 750-tonne LTM 1750-9.1 mobile crane. The 100th crane of this type left the plant in Ehingen in July this year. The new crane was handed over by Belgian Liebherr dealer Van Der Spek to crane contractor Dufour Transports et Manutention SA based in Marquain, Belgium. The LTM 1750-9.1 will be a new addition to and the largest mobile crane in the company's fleet. The key feature of Liebherr's 9-axle machine is that the entire telescopic boom can be conveyed on public roads.

Dufour first opened for business at the start of the 20th century and has developed into a global group. In addition to hiring crawler and mobile cranes, Dufour also provides logistics, heavy haulage and construction engineering services. Orders from the wind power sector have increased enormously over the last few years. This led to the decision to invest in another large mobile crane. The company decided on the Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 which has already proven so successful for many wind power projects. When signing the contract, Dufour said that the main reason behind its decision for the purchase was the reliability of Liebherr cranes. Furthermore, the fact that the company has had an excellent business relationship with Liebherr partner Van Der Spek for many years was another reason for choosing the Liebherr crane.

For its first job, the LTM 1750-9.1 traveled to Aisne in France where it helped to erect a 2.75 MW wind turbine. Its compact dimensions and massive hoisting capacity were major benefits for this job.

The LTM 1750-9.1 has been successful on all five continents. There are 59 cranes in Europe, 22 in America, 16 in Asia, 2 in Africa and 1 in Australia. The 9-axle machine features the very latest mobile crane technology and includes Liebherr innovations such as VarioBase® and ECOmode. With a max. axle load of 12t, the LTM 1750-9.1 can carry its 52m telescopic boom, front support outriggers, an auxiliary support cylinder at the rear and a complete hoist winch.

With its Y telescopic boom guying and a very wide range of lattice jibs, the LTM 1750-9.1 has a large number of boom systems. These enable it to achieve hoist heights of up to 154m and radii of up to 112m. The luffing lattice jib can be assembled in 3.5m stages up to a total of 91m.
