Electric, powerful and efficient: the new Liebherr LH 60 M Industry E

Low-noise, easy to maintain and efficient: these features describe the new Liebherr LH 60 M Industry E material handler. Liebherr is unveiling its latest addition to its portfolio of electric material handlers at Conexpo. The LH 60 M Industry E has been specially designed for low-noise and emission-free handling with an operating weight of between 124.600 and 143.300 lb (56.500 – 65.000 kg). In combination with the various types of working attachments, the new LH 60 M Industry E electric is the ideal solution for demanding material handling tasks in a wide range of applications.

With its extensive portfolio of material handlers, Liebherr offers the ideal solution for a wide range of applications: in scrap and port handling, in the timber industry, and in waste management. The machines are characterized by high performance, durability, and innovative technologies. Thanks to state-of-the-art hydraulic systems and energy-efficient drives, they offer an optimal combination of power, precision, and economy.

Liebherr is constantly developing its machines through continuous innovation, such as various drive concepts and intelligent assistance systems. At this year's Conexpo, Liebherr is presenting its latest material handler with an electric drive concept, the LH 60 M Industry E. The exhibition model is equipped with an 82-foot-long (25 meter) trailing cable. An optional self-winding system with a 164 (50 meter) or 328 (100 meter) foot cable is also available.

Innovative drive concept for low-noise and emission-free operation

At the heart of the machine is a 244,73 hp (180 kW) electric motor from Liebherr, which ensures powerful and dynamic working movements while keeping maintenance costs low and noise emissions to a minimum. In addition, the drive concept includes an additional 20,39 hp (15 kW) electric motor for auxiliary consumers, which ensures conscious energy distribution and maximum energy efficiency. In combination with the energy recovery cylinder (ERC) system developed by Liebherr, the machine has a total system output of 454,11 hp (334 kW). This means that the electric machine achieves exactly the same performance and speed as a conventional diesel-powered machine and operates just as quickly and dynamically.

Advanced frequency converter technology allows the motor speed to be individually adjusted to the respective application of the machine. In addition to easy adaptation to all common power supply networks worldwide, the frequency converter also offers significant cost savings during operation. This is due to the avoidance of inrush current peaks thanks to a smooth start-up and the associated protection of hydraulic drive components.

Low operating costs and minimal maintenance

In addition to the frequency converter, other factors also contribute to the low operating and maintenance costs. The robust design with durable electrical and hydraulic components ensures high value retention, while optimal maintenance accessibility makes operation particularly economical. The combination of less wear and tear and easy maintenance ensures high productivity for the LH 60 M Industry E. In addition, operating companies benefit from minimal downtime thanks to long inspection and maintenance intervals and the elimination of fuel and oil filters and oil changes – and thus reduced service costs. The new Liebherr LH 60 M Industry E electric material handling machine sets new standards in efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Wide range of attachments

The LH 60 M Industry E impresses with its versatility in a wide range of material handling applications. Liebherr offers a variety of attachments for the new electric material handler to meet the diverse requirements of the machine. With the two wood grabs GMH 50 and GMH 80, the LH 60 M Industry E is ideally equipped for timber handling. The same applies to bulk material handling: Liebherr has two bulk material grabs in its portfolio, the GMZ 50 and the GMZ 80, which have a grapple capacity of 2.00 - 10.46 yd³ (2.0 – 8.0 m³), depending on the version. In addition, there is the equipment variant with a multi-tine grab of the types GMM 80-4 or GMM 80-5 in an open, closed, or semi-closed version. With the right combination of machine and attachments, the LH 60 M Industry E is ready for any application – quiet and emission-free.
