Senior Quality Engineer (Aerospace MRO)Singapore
The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for all airworthiness, Quality Management System, and Safety Management System matters pertaining to the Civil Aviation Authorities (local and international) requirements and industry standards. They will also ensure that all Quality Manuals are updated, audited, complied with, and approved of by the company. They are also responsible for ensuring that high quality and aviation safety standards on operating procedures are upheld, and systems are carried out in the workshop with proper supporting documentation and provide appropriate communication/ support to the workshop daily.
What You Can Expect of the Job
- Approval Certification & Compliance Management
- You’ll support the Quality Manager with all matters pertaining to all certification approval (aviation authorities, standards) held by the Company, including the implementation of various policies.
- You’ll assist on the implementation and monitoring of the Quality Management System and Safety Management System (SMS) to satisfy the requirements of various Civil Aviation Authorities, Aerospace Standards 9110, 9120 & ISO 14001 standard.
- You’ll assist in maintaining all company standard operating procedures to always ensure their currency and to liaise with all departments to ensure that new procedures are introduced, when necessary, in a timely manner.
- You’re responsible for the review of bi-weekly Airworthiness Directives from FAA, EASA, CAAC websites and send the report to internal team on a routine basis.
- You’ll assist in updating and monitoring an approved personnel authorization system and stamp registers. Perform competency assessment for Workshop personnel before granting authorization.
- You’ll assist in conducting and monitoring of the internal and external audit process, including the development of the annual audit plan and the follow up of all corrective action arising from audits.
- Vendor Qualification
- You’ll monitor and maintain vendor management (Approved Vendor List (AVL) update, vendor certification tracking and update & etc.)
- New Repair Capability Management
- You’ll perform new repair capability evaluation and participate in the First Article Inspection (FAI).
- Technical Publication Management
- You’re responsible for ensuring all the Technical Publications (including test datasheets & etc.) are current and readily available to Workshop personnel and appropriately controlled.
- Calibration Management
- You’ll manage and control the calibration system for inspection, measuring and test equipment and liaise with external calibration vendors pertaining to all calibration matters.
- Other Job Scopes:
- You’ll organise workshop personnel training and participate in Continual Improvement program/initiative.
- You’ll support the collection, retention and disposal of all technical data/records retained as objective evidence of our repair work packages.
- You’ll be tasked with internal scrap management (scrap vendor collection, issuance of scrap certificate upon request & etc.)
- You’ll review incoming consumables CoC and test data is compliant before release to workshop for usage.
- You’ll generate non-incident report (NIS) for customers upon request.
- You’ll facilitate root cause analysis to resolve issues and conduct risk assessment for processes.
- Any other task as assigned.
What We Expect of You
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering with minimum 3 to 5 years of Quality Management and internal audit experience in aviation/ aerospace related field.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in SAR 145, EASA 145, FAR 145 & CCAR 145 repair environment.
- Lead Auditor trained (required).
- Knowledge and practical application of 8D or equivalent structured methodologies (e.g. RCCA, DMAIC, A3) for root cause analysis and risk mitigation preferred.
- Familiar with calibration of equipment systems and understanding of calibration reports.
- Ability to work under own initiative with minimal supervision.
- A good team player with good communication skills.
- Possess CAAS M10 or L11 or L12 or C01 examination paper (recommended).
- Attended Human Factors & SMS training (recommended).
- Knowledge of similar Liebherr-Aerospace products and services (if there is any).
- Experience in supporting external audits
- Willingness to participate in any quality standard certification.
- Willingness to attend meetings, training and audits.
