For the construction of a logistics hall with a total area of 90,000 m², the family company Steppe civil engineering & road construction is carrying out all the earthworks - supported by four powerful Liebherr machines. From precise channel construction to cut & fill to the creation of the outdoor facilities, it shows how modern construction technology and well-rehearsed processes go hand in hand. The R 922 crawler excavator, the L 566 XPower and L 508 Compact wheel loaders as well as PR 736 bulldozer ensure that everything runs smoothly on the large construction site - efficiently and reliably. Family Company Steppe
Since it was founded in 2010, Steppe has stood for reliability, commitment and a family-orientated corporate culture. A special feature of this construction site is the sustainable utilisation of excavated material. This comes from various projects and is processed directly on site. The targeted addition of suitable materials results in a building material that fulfils both the structural requirements and the strict environmental regulations. Compliance with these standards is regularly monitored and documented through measurements and inspections by the Ministry of the Environment. The use of modern machinery also enables the earthworks to run smoothly, from the rough modelling of the site to the precise laying of the sewers and the preparation of the outdoor facilities. The result is an efficient, harmonised construction process that combines technology and environmental responsibility.

To meet the complex requirements of modern construction sites, Steppe is relying directly on four powerful Liebherr machines for this project, which combine efficiency, precision and environmental awareness.
The R 922 crawler excavator carries out the digging and excavation work, especially for laying sewers. With its high precision and reach, it can excavate trenches for pipes and shafts and sort material. The R 922 not only carries out the precise digging and excavation work, but also plays a central role in soil compaction across the entire construction site. With its attached vibratory plate, it ensures even compaction both in trenches and in open areas.
The L 508 Compact wheel loader also impresses with its compact dimensions and is ideal for confined areas on large construction sites. Thanks to the LIKUFIX quick-change system, attachments can be exchanged flexibly and quickly, which significantly increases productivity. For the customer Steppe, this means efficient processes, maximum safety for the operating personnel and noticeable time savings on the construction site.
The L 566 XPower scores with the innovative XPower travel drive and is responsible for material handling in major projects. It transports excavated material, fills lorries, distributes bulk material and assists with cut & fill, i.e. levelling out height differences by removing and applying earth material on the construction site. Thanks to its efficiency and manoeuvrability, it is ideal for large areas and fast loading cycles.
The PR 736 bulldozer rounds off the machine fleet. With 160 kW (217 hp) engine power, a blade volume of up to 5.56 m³ and sensitive control, it ensures precise terrain modelling even in difficult ground conditions. In this project, large areas had to be brought to the planned heights efficiently and with millimetre precision, a task that the PR 736 mastered with aplomb. For the customer, this meant less rework, shorter construction times and an excellent result.
