Liebherr’s next-generation tooth system for plate lip applications

The Z G3 tooth system available for plate lip application is an advanced evolution of our GET (Ground Engaging Tools) for hydraulic mining excavators up to 400 tonnes. Since the launch of the first generation more than a decade ago, we have been committed to continuous improvement, pushing the boundaries of innovation to set new industry standards and deliver the best plate lip system available in the market.

Improved tooth design

Pre-installed metal retainer for streamlined installation
The new tooth design features a pre-installed metal retainer, eliminating the need for separate installation. Unlike plastic alternatives, this durable retainer can withstand higher operating temperatures and is unaffected by storage conditions.

Self-sharpening design for lasting accuracy
Our Z G3 GET tooth has a self-sharpening design that keeps it consistently sharp over its entire wear life. The improved design naturally refines the tooth edge as it wears, maintaining its ability to cut and penetrate effectively. The result? Consistent machine performance, efficient material handling and reliable productivity.

Optimised wear material ratio for extended longevity

Enhanced adapter design

Symmetrical geometry for stability and load optimisation
The adapter’s symmetrical geometry ensures stable, balanced load distribution across the system. By providing torsional stabilisation, it securely locks the tooth in place during high-stress operations, preventing misalignment and uneven wear. This robust design allows each component to withstand multidirectional forces, reducing stress concentrations and extending wear life even in the toughest conditions.

Reduced plastic deformation for durability
A large contact surface on the adapter nose minimises plastic deformation, preserving structural integrity and lowering maintenance frequency. This design also improves resistance to frontal loads, further extending the adapter’s service life.

Spherical front contact for easy tooth removal
The spherical design at the adapter’s nose allows slight vertical movement during digging, effectively evacuating fine materials. This feature prevents debris buildup between the tooth and adapter, simplifying tooth removal and ensuring smoother, more efficient maintenance.

Optimised wear cap design

Built-in wear indicator
The wear cap features a built-in indicator hole that gives a clear visual signal when it’s time to replace it – helping to avoid unexpected failures.

Weld front protection with flush fit integration
Engineered with flush-mounted integration, the system directs material flow directly into the bucket, preventing buildup between components. The innovative wear cap with weld front protection shields the adapter from lower and lateral wear, minimising impacts and abrasions caused by heavy material flow and demanding digging conditions.
All of this results in consistent performance, reduced cleaning intervals and extended component life.

Efficient and safe locking system

Two-step assembly and disassembly process
Our advanced locking system simplifies the process with a single-pin mechanism, eliminating the need for hammers. This two-step process ensures quick, hassle-free assembly and disassembly, saving time and effort while maintaining secure and efficient operation.

Precision-engineered locking mechanism for flawless pin insertion
Each tooth is equipped with a precisely engineered locking hole, utilising a poka-yoke mechanism to ensure the pin is always inserted correctly, preventing any incorrect placement.

Audible locking confirmation for secure installation
The GET system is engineered with an audible click that service technicians can hear when the pin is securely locked in place. This eliminates any guesswork, ensuring proper and secure installation.
