A question of connection
Bursa is not only the birthplace of the Iksender kebap in Türkiye, but is also getting a new metro line. For project manager Hakan Tek, this is a very special project, because the new connection is to provide even easier and faster access to the city's hospital. For this, Taşyapı Construction naturally relies on deep foundation machines from Liebherr.

Lined up like an assembly line, Liebherr’s rotary drilling rigs work their way steadily into the depths beneath the city of Bursa. The fourth largest city in Türkiye, and birthplace of the delicious iskender kebap, is about to get a new metro line linking it to the city hospital. For project manager Hakan Tek this is a very special undertaking. “In Türkiye, most of the large hospitals are built on the outskirts of the city. This makes fast and reliable connections all the more important. I am delighted to say that this project will soon be able to achieve this.”
Reliable service
He has been working for Taşyapı Construction for over 15 years, where he is in charge of infrastructure projects. This involves assembling the necessary teams and vehicles, coordinating, and supervising the work on site, and providing the teams with professional training. His decision to use Liebherr deep drilling rigs was no accident. The machines need a huge amount of traction to work their way into the ground. To achieve this, their position must be stable at all times, and they must be able to perform precise and rapid drilling cycles. But the machine’s performance was not the only deciding factor for Taşyapı İnşaat; the consistently reliable service was also a very important consideration. “We always receive very capable support in every respect.
