With internal gears, wet machining is advantageous because the cutting edge are cooled and lubricated, which reduces the thermal load on the tools. Another reason is that chips that form are perfectly removed, which prevents them from being drawn into the running process. Optimum chip removal significantly increases the gear and surface quality.

The hard skiving process opens up new possibilities for hard-fine machining of internal gears and splines that are difficult, unproductive or impossible to achieve using processes such as grinding or honing. It allows targeted compensation of hardening distortion, offers impressive flexibility, tool life and cost efficiency, and can be used on gear skiving machines from Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH with a simple tool change.

With the control panel, Liebherr intelligently divides the programming and operation of the machine between two system parts: The large, fixed monitor unit LHStation for data input and process monitoring and the standardized, mobile handheld terminal LHMobile with context-sensitive user guidance during setup. Both units have a multi-touch surface as well as tactile elements for optimum operating speed and operating safety.
