Liebherr supplies heat exchangers for TGV trains

Liebherr-Transportation Systems will provide different types of heat exchangers for TGV high speed trains to French rail company SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer), Lyon.

The order covers ten different types of evaporators and condensers for the various types of HVAC systems installed in the passenger compartments and driver cabins of TGV trains. These heat exchangers differ in size depending on the cooling capacity, space envelope and system architecture of the corresponding HVAC unit. Further, they all comply with the specifications stipulated by SNCF.

“We are very proud to have received this contract after highly competitive bidding”, stated Dirk Junghans, Managing Director Sales, Marketing and Customer Service of Liebherr-Transportation Systems GmbH & Co KG.

This is not for the first time that SNCF has opted for Liebherr heat exchangers: Under the terms of a contract awarded in the past year, Liebherr has already delivered five heat exchangers to the train operator. “This new agreement is further proof that SNCF has placed its trust in Liebherr as a flexible and reliable service partner”, added Dirk Junghans. The contract is valid for two years, and can be extended.
