The R 9300 is compatible with Liebherr’s Assistance Systems. These are advanced onboard applications that help operators become more efficient by analysing live data to provide actionable ways to improve the performance of the machine. These Assistance Systems include:

The Truck Loading Assistant calculates the best truck loading strategy to avoid over- or underloading. The system calculates the best truck loading strategy by collecting data through a payload management system. This data advises the operator of the loading tendency and each actual payload per pass before the material is loaded into the truck.

The Truck Loading Assistant:

• Measures bucket payload instantaneously
• Provides real-time information to the operator
• Computes number of required passes
• Aligns loading tendency with load strategy
• Has to option to add automatic truck recognition

This system measures and analyses the performance of both the operator and the machine during a work period. Operators can use this system to evaluate and improve their performance by comparing current performance to previous work patterns. With the Performance Monitoring Assistant, operators can compare multiple performance indicators, including production KPIs, loading indicators, time distribution, and energy efficiency.

The Application Severity Assistant evaluates, quantifies, and reports the severity of a mining application. An overall severity score is calculated over a selected period, using data collected by sensors within the machine. The system then provides actionable insights to mitigate the impact and cost of the site severity on operating costs, productivity, and reliability throughout the machine’s life cycle. The Application Severity Assistant also provides information about underfoot conditions, temperature profile, engine load factor, and suspended load.

This system monitors and automatically detects non-conforming operational events to improve operator effectiveness. The algorithms within the system continuously monitor the machine for non-conforming events – for example digging with the swing brake activated or turning the machine with the attachment – and can immediately detect when the machine is being used outside the scope of the machine design. The system can generate reports that show how often these events occurred and for how long over a certain period of time, which can help to predict potential maintenance costs and identify training needs.

The intelligent design of components in the attachment reduces its weight, improves bucket protection, and increases digging forces.

The new Liebherr attachment solution provides best-in-class fatigue resistance and productivity in demanding mining applications. Liebherr engineers were able to install a bigger bucket on the R 9300 thanks to the hollow pins and aluminium covers on all attachment points, enabling enhanced onsite performance.

Designed for best force distribution, Liebherr’s latest attachment design delivers high digging and lifting forces, ensuring maximum payload during each cycle.

In addition to the new attachment, Liebherr’s new, patented bucket design – the EVO bucket – optimises the bucket shape of the R 9300 and reduces the size of the bearing block, improving productivity without impacting cycle time or fuel consumption.

Liebherr’s proprietary engine and hydraulic management system – Liebherr Power Efficiency (LPE) – comes as standard with the R 9300. With the LPE system, the excavator will only use the power and the hydraulic flow required for the task at hand, drastically reducing fuel consumption.

The LPE system:

The diesel engine in the R 9300 include selective catalytic reduction technology to comply with latest emission regulations. This allows the R 9300 to meet customer expectations while reducing emissions, without compromising productivity.

Today, modern engines consistently achieve 18,000 to 20,000 hours in operation before requiring overhaul. Therefore, increasing the service life of the whole R 9300 from 45,000 to 60,000 hours allows the lifespan of the machine to better align with engine service life."
