The Compensation & Benefits Lead is accountable for shaping and evolving the organisation’s reward strategy across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring remuneration and benefits frameworks are competitive, commercially aligned, and fit for purpose.
This role acts as a trusted subject matter expert to senior leaders, People Partners, and the broader People & Capability function, providing high-quality advice on remuneration, benefits and governance. It ensures reward decisions effectively support attraction, retention, and performance, while maintaining a strong focus on equity, risk management, and legislative compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and governance of enterprise-wide reward frameworks
- Own job architecture, evaluation methodologies and pay structures
- Provide data-led remuneration insights using market benchmarking
- Partner with leaders on complex pay positioning and equity issues
- Oversee annual remuneration cycles and incentive frameworks
- Ensure alignment with Awards, EA obligations and regulatory compliance
- Analyse reward effectiveness and optimise program outcomes
- Embed reward governance, controls and decision-making frameworks
Skills & Experience:
- Tertiary qualified with significant experience in enterprise reward functions
- Deep expertise in remuneration benchmarking, market data and pay positioning
- Advanced capability in job architecture, evaluation frameworks (e.g. Mercer/Hay) and salary structures
- Strong knowledge of Fair Work, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and reward governance
- Highly commercial, data-led advisor with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders
